Shooting Wide Angle
I love the effect that a wide angle lens can give, basically because it can take in so much of the scene. In fact, sometimes I feel like I am right in the picture! My favorite lens right now is the Nikkor 20mm f/2.8. This lens can be used very creatively not only for landscapes, but also in portraiture. This type of photography can be tricky and requires much experimentation. My next obsession will probably be a fisheye...hoping I can get one soon!

Do you like Piña Coladas... and getting caught in the rain?
I like the rain. There is something incredibly refreshing about the rain. It is also the perfect opportunity to capture some wonderful splashes of color and interesting shapes. These shots were taken through the window of a car.

Specular Highlights
Sometimes considered to be a defect, specular highlights, can be really beautiful. Lenses for these experiments, a 50mm f/1.8 and a 60mm f/2.8. Shot in a dark room. Focused on the foreground subject which was placed in front of Xmas lights. The result: round colorful specular highlights.
